Ferret Cages - What cage should you buy for your ferret?
Obviously, you will need to choose a cage that is large enough for your ferret, or large enough for two if you have bought your ferret a friend or plan on buying your ferret a friend. Cages with more than one level work wonderfully and allow a ferret plenty of room to climb up and down the ramps.
If you are lucky enough to have a room in your home to devote to your ferret’s play, you may not have to purchase a very large cage – just one big enough for your ferret to eat and sleep in with some extra space in the middle will do just fine.
However, if your ferret or ferrets will be spending extended hours in their cages, you will want to get an extra-large cage to keep them healthy and above all, happy.
Although expensive, some pet stores sell very tall and very large cages for ferrets that will most likely take up an entire corner in your home. Of course, if you can afford it, larger cages are wonderful to have and most provide a slide out tray to make them easier to clean.
You do not have to get the biggest and the best ferret cage to make your ferret happy, however, if you cannot afford anything but the smallest cage you would be unwise to purchase a ferret at all. Ultimately, a happy and well cared for ferret results in a happier and less frustrated owner.
